One of our top boys Kevin Heitczman was just in New Orleans for a bachelor party these are the results.

"Just got back from a Bachelor Party weekend in New Orleans and Woooooeeeee! it was fun. Some highlights were the Shrimp Po' Boys, All-you-can-eat Crawfish (until we ate about 25lbs), and Mother's Restaurant. While recovering from the first night we all got up and went to Mother's, a place we've heard good things about but we were not expecting how good it would be. Lemonade, Fried Chicken, Rice and Beans, a few homemade biscuit sandwiches (including one with Black Ham that was incredible), Jambalaya, and their famous Ferdi Special. A sandwich with Mother's Best baked Ham, Roast Beef, Debris (the roast beef that falls into the gravy while baking in the oven), and gravy. I got the Ralph which is the Ferdi with Cheese. All in all, great meal and the next time we're in New Orleans, I'm taking you there.

Also included: a crazy guy who was trying to be the bead king, our table after a few hours of pregame, and two Pork Tacos from Endless Summer Taco Truck in Brooklyn. After a long day of flights, nothing settles you down like two bangers from Endless Summer. "

I don't know what it is about these five flavors but, grilled chicken, cheese, ranch dressing, bacon, and avocado were absolutely meant to be tasted at the same time. You can find this on the menu at most sandwich establishments and is very easy to make at home, especially after a back yard BBQ and there are a few chicken cutlets sitting in the fridge.

Hands down this is in the top 10 possibly top 5 sandwiches I've ever had in my life. Its from a little mom and pop place in Cambridge Mass called Alive and kicking located on 269 Putnam Avenue. It's a converted garage that from what I'm told supplies the finest restaurants in boston with fresh lobster daily. Their Lobster roll is unlike anything I've ever had, massive chunks of perfectly seasoned lobster with not to much mayo on delicious toast. If your in the Boston area right now I suggest you get off the internet and run full speed to to this place! UNREAL

Lenny's is the best sandwich chain in NYC that I am aware of, and they are growing rapidly. Their selection is daunting but has enough flavor variety to please any palate. A sandwich here will run you 10 bucks or more which isn't the best, but it's well worth it every once in a while. If your in Manhattan and you have a hankering for an unreal sandwich I suggest you type Lenny's sandwich shop into your iPod phone and follow the turn by turn directions provided by google maps and chow down!

I believe this is our first international post, from my buddy Matt who moved to spain to teach English. Now this sandwich may look a little light in the loafers but don't be fooled it packs a punch of flavor and its pretty hard to come across in the states. Hey give the sandwich a break its from Europe. In addition to the sandwich description Matt attached an interesting characterization of the establishment in which he enjoyed this sandwich.

"Ok let me start with a preamble... Since I moved to Madrid, Spain I've noticed an excellent tradition/custom/trend to put ham on just about everything. Couple this with the fact that EVERYTIME you order a drink you get served a snack, sometimes involving pork. That being said, the sandwich I am about to share with you actually has no pig on it, but it's still well worth it.

Now i'll give you a little story about the place I went to have the excellent sandwich I am about to describe. There's this abandoned apartment building right around the corner from me in Madrid. Ever weekend me and my housemates/ friends Javier and Pilar go and get some 25 euro cent beers there until they shut the doors relatively early for Madrid (around midnight or 1 depending on how many people are there). So we decide to check out some of the local cafeterias to the abandoned house, and this little dirty place is open. We are on our way to a nice buzz and decide to spend our money drinking, but we agree we should come back to check it out in the daylight (nursing a hangover, most likely). So the next day we return, and it gave me a little perspective. Upon entering I noticed, this place was not for the faint of heart. There were mountains of cigarette butts on the floor, crumpled up napkins and spit surrounding the anthill cigarette ashes and some salty looking characters. it was around noon this time (on a sunday) and there was a mother with a little one year old girl there. The mother looked like she had spent the morning drinking, and so did the one year old. Me and Javier decide to take a seat at the cleanest table we could find, which incidentally was really no cleaner than the floor. we order ourselves a delicious Mahou cinco estrella (it'd be equivalent to a fancier budweiser) and the woman behind the counter hands us a plate of olives, potato salad, and deviled eggs all at no extra cost. They know how to treat drinkers here. we enjoy our beer and decide that the typical, lomo y pimiento isn't going to suffice today. we decided on making a sandwich. I said, "Javi, you know what would be killer right now? some lomo and cheese" (I'm in that phase of learning spanish where I am somewhere in between saying a sentence in spanish and english... everyone understands me though) He then suggests to add tomato to it, to which I wholeheartedly agree... we order the sandwich and as we're waiting the place quickly turns into a circus. We look over and there's this salty old man who is clearly deaf with his hearing aid in screaming across the counter to the woman working the griddle... I didn't understand all of it, but I think he was trying to get a coffee and a tostada (toast with tomato spread, olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper). The woman with the kid has the kid now screaming at her for coca cola. Which the woman is more than happy to give her to shut her the hell up, and now there is a line of little old ladies forming next to the gambling machines waiting to lose some money. On the other end of the counter there's this big mafioso looking mother fucker just sitting on a stool smoking a cigarette staring at me as if I was breathing his air on purpose and then some black guy came in to try to sell me a magic glowing orb and some bootleg DVDs. I decided to go to the bathroom and had to go to the basement to do this. as I go downstairs, I find a private room which could be the owners personal place and there's like a gaggle of children down there doing god knows what. Somewhat creeped out I go to the bathroom and do my business and head back up to my sandwich being completed. I sunk my teeth into it and I must have looked pretty foolish because Javi looked at me as if he had never seen a grown man eat before. tool. Anyway. here is the sandwich which apparently warranted giving you too many details on my surroundings at the time.

you can call it whatever you like, but here's what it is: On a piece of Spanish Bread (I'd say 10 inches, they would say 30 cm) you place three to five THICK cut pieces of griddle seared LAMB... that's right... seasoned and delicious it's one of the nicest, juiciest meats I've ever had. You can take one bite of the sandwich and taste the love. Then you add 3 THICK cut slices of Havarti Cheese (it's one of the native spanish cheeses, although feel free to substitute with Curado or viejo, which means cured and old, or aged, respectively). These cheese are delicious. Never too salty, definitely never bland, and they melt well if you want to warm that shit up. Take a tomato and, you guessed it, thick slice that shit. Three pieces, or so should do the trick. Make sure to drizzle a bit of Olive oil on it and ingest fool it'S A GODDAMN DELICIOUS SANDWICH. Note in the picture the obligatory beer in hand, and an olive, anchovie, pepper concoction on a toothpick. It was glorious"

"So as a few of you know, over winter break a group of us embarked on a most excellent journey towards Colorado. Matt, Rick, Kristen, and myself experienced all we could on our week long trip and you know what that means...sandwiches!

Along with some road photos, we have a sandwich I got from a deli/rave craziness(Half Fast Subs Boulder CO the larest sandwich selection ive ever seen and it was inside a poppin bar). It is chicken fried steak, mash potatoes, gravy, and some avacado. This thing was long as fuck and delicious. Then at one of the brewery tours, we found this little gem called Beer Mustard. It tasted awesome but we didn't have any food to put it on...still don't know why we didn't take it. Then while visiting Coor's brewery, we stopped at a bar in Golden and got some buffalo burgers which were slammin. Beer mustard would have set it off.

Little disappointed with myself for not having more photos but thats how it goes

"Coming home for the christmas break means a few things. Hanging out with friends, relaxing around the house, being the dummy at best buy the night before christmas, and getting blasted with snow, but there are 2 things that stand out the most. Putting up christmas lights and eating home cooked meals. After driving back from the city, my brother and I started our day long project of making our house the most festive on the block (which isn't hard since out neighbors blow it every year with just wreathes and white lights) I'm a man who likes classy light setups with the big bulbs and no crazy plastic santas or blow up snowmen. You want a 10 ft frosty in your yard, man the fuck up and roll him yourself.

So after many broken bulbs and almost slipping on the roof, we take a break for dinner. Now our mom knows how to feed us. We come in and she's got a pot full of spicy chili, home made home fries, some burgers she made with the extra ground beef, fresh rolls, and before she made us some hot chocolate while we were out side. Gotta love mom.

We were in a rush to got out and get more extension cords before the roads got to bad so I took everything we had and threw them on a roll and hit the road. So here we have a burger topped with chili, american cheese, home fries, with homemade pickles and some sauces. Nothing hits the spot better from being outside in the cold all day than that.

Then the next morning I wake up to find my mom had made some egg salad and I went from there. Taking the egg salad, I found some pancetta in the fridge, as well as some home fries from last night and hooked it up. It's got egg salad with sauteed pancetta, melted swiss, and the home fries.

"It's been WAYYYYY too long since I sent shit in but I'm back with some fall classics and winter bangers.

First up are a few hand helds I made while a photo shoot for work. Of course these guys blow it and get food that you need to eat with a plate and utensils which is a fail when in a working environment. You need to be on the move while working and a sandwich is the perfect way to keep up the multitasking. That being said, nothing gets me more amped then being able to turn a sit down meal into a sandwich. Creativity at it's finest. Coming in we got two breakfast starters I made as soon as I got on set. They had toast, bagels, omelets, condiments, and some fruit so I made a nice Peanut butter and banana sandwich as well as throwing one of the omelets onto a bagel and starting the day off right. Now when lunch came to us, I made a roast pork tenderloin, rice pilaf, and apple stuffing sandwich which peaked the appetites of fellow employees and they soon followed suit.

The next one if a lunch sammie I made one weekend home . We got roast turkey, melted swiss, and fresh made guac, on a toasted hero with some weird multigrain chips that my mom had. They def taste better than they look.

next we have a breakfast treat from rainbow deli by school. Got that bacon egg cheese with a hashbrown on top and some ketchup. Great way to start the day

Oh and this delicious monstrosity was sent to me by my other brother Steve. This massive pile of bacon was at some deli that's situated between 3 dive bars and when people drink, they love to eat.

Following that we have two sandwiches from an awesome deli by my apartment, Strokos. My roommate and I go there so much they usually know what we're going to order. But you got to be creative with these places so when I walked in and saw their dinner was BBQ Brisket, you know I had to get that on some bread. Topped with melted swiss, avocado, and bbq sauce, this thing left me wanting more. The other favorite from them is a chicken cordon blue sammie with avocado, sour pickle, and some salt & vinegar chips. Nothing compliments the smooth and mild taste of the sandwich then a good pickle and S&V chips.

Finally we have a group from my recent trip to florida for a photo gig. You put me anywhere near a complimentary breakfast, there's going to be something delicious coming out of it. We got a toasted bagel with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese, and western home fries piled on top. It was messy but tasty. We also have another breakfast meal with 2 pancakes, maple syrup, egg, and sausage together - Ah mazing.

and to wash everything down, you need a official arnold palmer.

We've all been there before your starving but you need to go grocery shopping. You look in the fridge and you try to make a delicious meal out of what ever you have left. Some times you come up huge and discover an new unreal sandwich and other times you fail epically and need to cover everything in ketchup just to stomach it. Well the other day I came up huge all I had left was 4 slices of salami, i one slice of ham, 2 eggs, and a pack of chipotle sauce from Wendy's. I grilled up the salami and ham cooked the eggs in the fat and went crazy with the chipotle. It was sick

Although this year the emphasis on the "day after" or the "Black Friday" sandwich pales in comparison to last years it is still the most important sandwich of the year and Big Greg Scalo was nice enough to share his with the world

"Here is a sandwich I made with the Thanksgiving leftovers. I had posted it on my blog, http://lunchoclock.blogspot.com, and wanted to share it with your blog since this is where I made my first post ever and your blog got the ideas flowing to start my own blog.

"The best part of Thanksgiving is the following day's sandwich that can be made from all of the left overs. I usually start thinking about the sandwich in the beginning of the week to make sure I do not miss any key items. Serious Meat and I made a quick trip the convenience store mid morning on Friday to get some rolls and American cheese. Suprisingly, the convenience store has some great rolls. I went with a club roll and Serious Meat opted for an Onion roll. Hopefully Serious Meat will do a write up about his sandwich. Although I made it for him, I don't want to misrepresent his feelings in anyway.

The club roll had a nice crust and soft center, and was the optimal jumping off point for this sandwich. Working from the bottom to the top, the sandwich consisted of American cheese, Stuffing**, Ham, Turkey, Stuffed Mushrooms, and Ranch dressing. The 5 key players (Ranch is a condiment and considered the 6th man) in this sandwich really worked well together and highlighted each others strengths and hid the weaknesses. My money is on this starting 5 over the New York Knicks anyday.

In most athletic rosters the "**" indicates the captain of the team, and it is no different here. The captain of the 2009 Black Friday Sandwich is the Stuffing. This isn't your run of the mill Stove Top Stuffing, no way, no way. This stuffing was made by Big D and as usual, it never fails. This stuffing includes the standard breading, celery, onion, carrot, and chicken broth, but those are just the pawns to the main ingredient...Sausage! If you have never had this kind of stuffing, I am sorry. Let me know and I will get you the recipe.

Note: A key player that did not make the team this year was the side of brown gravy. Somehow all of the gravy ended up in the freezer and I didn't feel like waiting for it to defrost.""

Here is my creation its your standard mashed taters on the bottom followed by ham turkey stuffing and some zucchini on top I, as well as Greg, was plagued by the lack of gravy on this sandwich but its all good

I was recently shooting photos for EA Sports on tour for the release of NBA Live 10 I joined up for the last 2 weeks which covered the southern states here are some samples of the deliciousness I encountered along the way.
Pulled Pork sandwich from "Punkin's Bar B Que and Catfish" West of Pauls Valley Oklahoma Highway 19

UUUUUUNNNN REEEAAAL!!! This meal takes the cake even though it is not a sandwich. But you can bet your boots If I had a roll or 2 pieces of bread it would have been. This small family owned Joint in Walker Louisiana was one of my top 10 eating experiences of all times. From the crazy looks we got when we walked in to how extremely friendly the waitress/owner was. I Ioved every second of it. It was a plate with catfish, Cajun stuffed crab, stuffed shrimp, fried shrimp,crab fingers, hush puppies, oysters, frog legs, a cup of gumbo, and a baked potato........Exactly

This post should have been up in September
"The Swine Flu BBQ was the brain child of the brother's Heitczman,
Craig and Kevin. We went all out for a day/night of food filled fun
and everyone left happy. Along with the normal bbq food (burgers,
dogs, salads, etc) we decided to go the extra mile with some pulled
pork, S&P, Chicken wings, Venison, and the hit of the party,
Alligator. Bringing the animal count up to 5 for the night. (next year
we're thinking a Noah's Ark theme with 2 different meals of the same
animal) Bill Opper coming in with 6lbs of left over nacho cheese added
a nice touch to everything we ate. The party didn't really start until
the deep fryer showed up and everything was fair game. Gator,
cheeseburgers, jerky, butterfingers, cashews, crickets...you name it,
it got thrown in. Next year we need more emphasis on the fryer and
make everyone guest bring something they want to deep fry cause
everything was super good.

S&Ps, and a hunk of pork

"The Venison Cheese Steak was a spur of the moment sandwich that came
about with leftovers from the BBQ. I had to make the Venison that
night before it went bad and I didn't have much supplies to work with
so it became a sandwich. The only bad part was the roll was also from
the BBQ so that was getting stale but ya gotta do what ya gotta do."

"Totally forgot about this incredible sandwich my roomate and i constructed a couple weeks ago. I'm pretty sure the contents of this sandwich were as follows: grilled chicken broccoli and spaghetti in a tomato sauce, beef rice a roni, sauted chop meat aka ground beef , all brought together with sauted onions, garlic, fresh tomatoes, a little sun dried tomato alfredo sauce to give it some viscocity, curry powder, cumin, cardamom, lime juice. Knowing me there was probably basil and thyme and maybe even jalepenos thrown in there as well, piled high on a poppy seed and onion hamburger bun. Needless to say it was an infusion of many flavors which made a more than fantastic midnight snack."

"In response to the 6 ft hero post from a few weeks ago I bring to you another party staple and a must, the meat platter. In some ways I prefer the meat platter over the footer. Nothing chaps my ass more than walking up to the footer and see it mangled. The tops of the bread are left behind, people peeling off the meat they dont like, and the lactose intolerant leaving behind the cheese. With the meat platter, the sandwich is at the discretion of the craftsman.

This meat platter was hand rolled by myself and my girlfriend at a party up in Johnson City, NY. Serious Meat was in attendance, but he was performing keg stands and challenging people to arm wrestling matches while this roast beef, turkey, ham, salami, provolone, and american cheese orgy was being constructed. In addition to the platter, there were various types of rolls, rye bread, and this amazing cheese bread from Wegmans.

As an added bonus, I included a picture of myself from my sandwich making days at Little Italy Deli in Monroe, NY in 2001. Renee Russo loved how sliced her cold cuts.

Franks Famous Italian pizzeria aka Ma Ma Mia's on monmouth st in Jersey City is hands down my favorite pizzeria of all times. The pizza is unbelievably delicious! huge and cheep. And the atmosphere is what it is, a laid back neighborhood pizzeria dedicated to providing the people with delicious affordable food. Large pies for $5? Cheese burger fires and a can for 2$? chicken parms for 3.50? 75 cent burgers that are not even close to skimpy? and a slice so big you can hang glide home on it for 2$? you wont find that anywhere but this place. And the good man who owns this establishment Frank Scalcione is running for Jersey City council and has our full support, last time I was in there he was being interviewed by a newspaper reporter. In a day and age that crappy small slices are being sold in the city for 3.25plus tax ?!?! we need to show love to a place like this. On some days if frank is feeling extra generous his monster slices are only 1$. If you find yourself in downtown JC and need a slice do your self a favor and stop on by, but don't be confused by the pizzeria next door on the left don't even waste your time Franks is the real deal!

"Here's a few things that I've come across so far this summer. First
off we have a pulled pork sandwich with mac&cheese and nacho cheese on
top (thanks to Bill's nacho cheese fountain. The next two are from
Oregon where I went for a week and a half. We got a spaghetti sandwich
with garlic bread as the bread. Turning a fork and knife meal into a
sandwich is always fun. Finally the last thing here is from Cobra
Dogs. A little hot dog stand at the base of Mt. Hood. They have quite
a few different dogs (All Beef Boa, Brattlesnake, Cheddaconda, etc)
but all of them are delicious. They also have an assortment of
toppings as well. I got Brattlesnake with cobra sauce, cream cheese,
onions, relish, kraut, ketchup, and mustard."

"I love sandwiches and I love this blog. My name is Greg and I am Joe 'Serious Meat' Scalo's older brother. I know these aren't sandwiches, but it is meat between bread. These are two dogs from Swanky Franks in Norwalk, CT. They are deep fried and placed on a toasted bun, which is a must for any grilled/fried dog. On the left you have a chili dog with brown mustard and raw onion. It is a great chili with no beans, great spices, with a little bit of kick. The second is a dog with Swanky's hot mustard relish, with a little extra relish for good measure. The sweet relish is a nice compliment to the spicy mustard. In between bites I was pounding a nice order of chili fries. The only thing missing from this meal was a few of those hiccup beer. Bill Opper knows what I am talkin about. Although these dogs were great, I must say, nothing beats a Sabrett dirty water dog with red onion sauce and brown mustard.

Its their renowned roast beef and mutz special (w/ gravy). Reaching super stardom after being featured in 30 Rock's "Sandwich Day" episode, this sandwich draws crowds of sandwich goers hungry enough for this prize possession. This sandwich is only made twice a week (thurs and sat) so a line is expected.

My photo is petty bad, but that's because they jam this thing w/ meet and cheese and drench it in natural sauce!

I recently had the pleasure of making dinner for the Randazzo family. Mark (father) and my buddy Matt (son) are fans of the site and good friends of mine. So after nice float on the lake and about 6 beers I ran into mark and he informs me that there is a large amount of left over stuffed filet mignon and boneless buffalo wings from matts graduation party. I offered to make sandwiches for the whole family and the rest is history. The filet mignon was stuffed with spinach garlic and rosemary whoooo! so slammin. So with that we went horseradish and shredded sharp cheddar. Pretty much the most baller sandwich ive ever had in my life. I felt like i needed to dress up nice to eat it, instead i just put a coozie on my budwieser. The Buffalo chicken was pretty basic but amazing none the less just shredded pepper jack cheese and blue cheese. I want to thank Mark, Rebecca, Matt, and Kate for letting me invade their kitchen.

I was extremely bored a few weeks ago and as I was snooping through the freezer I discovered some frozen raw home made meat balls and light bulb turned on in my head. a huge onion, a fist full of garlic, a couple bay leaves, some baby carrots, a few cans of crushed tomatoes, and several hours of simmering later I was busting down a meatball sandwich that was UNREAL!. Now I quarter the meatballs for the sandwich for more sauce surface area and less mess. Let me tell you it looks like slop but its the best way to enjoy a meatball sandwich.

This is one of my favorite snacks of all time, but im looked at like a maniacby people who dont know what it is when im seen making or eating it. like "dude what the hell are you doing". If you put your thumb at the bottom of a banana and go up through it you can spit it in 2 and it forms a perfect space for peanut butter. Jerseys finest!!! Ive been a huge fan of white manna since I was a young buck playing hockey in Hackensack, we used to stop there sometimes on the way home. But the original is in Jersey City on Tonnele Ave. White Manna is amazing it's the original homemade white castle its super fast, super delicious and a must for any sandwich lover in the NYC/North Jersey region. Our very own Kevin Heitczman crossed the Hudson to experience the flavor and he has a funny story to go with it.

"The other day my friend brings me to this place in jersey called White
Mana. Small little joint that serves up sliders and shakes. So I'm
looking over the menu and see Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Double Ham,
Double Cheese, and Steak & Cheese. Now everything was priced pretty
much the same (steak & cheese was $1 more) so I figured they were
slider size steak and cheeses. I get 4 cheese burgers, 2 steak &
cheeses, fries and shake. Well they bring out the food and I just
laughed. The Steak & Cheeses were not sliders at all. Served up on
hard rolls, I had a pile of food in front of me. The place was pretty
good, I recommend the burgers for sure. Forgot to take pics till the
end but here's 1 cheeseburger and the steak & cheeses."

I always wanted to take the dollar dumpling spot into sandwich territory, but I'm always afraid that as soon as my dumplings would find their way into my sesame pancake I'd get thunder kicked out of the store through the window for violating tradition. The dumpling sandwich came about after going to Tasty Dumplings in
chinatown and getting a golden pancake. It was pretty much a

opened her up and filled it with some pork dumplings and bam, it was

I met a fellow sandwich enthusiast at the Mets game last night by the name of Corey Passero. We talked about sandwiches for about 20 minutes and then he sent in this work of art form his black berry. Its chicken cutlets, fresh mutz, and roasted red peppers with pesto on both sides of Italian bread. Looks slammin and Corey wanted to point out that the huge slab in the middle is not chicken its fresh mutz. This is a top notch sandwich.

I came back to jersey to have dinner with my mother one night and created this is the ultimate Italian food sandwich. My mothers homemade sauce and meatballs ,Hot sausage and some spaghetti on a section of garlic bread with parmesan cheese. WHOOOOOOO! easily top 5 sandwiches I will have this year. It was so good that while i was eating it I didn't believe it.

By far one of the best days of the year. You get incredibly wasted with your friends during the day, hopefully eat a huge corned beef and cabbage dinner, then fall asleep. Its great! here is the corned beef and red potatoes toasted with mustard sandwich I had the next day for breakfast.
