Dickie Dees

Dickey Dees on newark nj serves up a legendary italian hot dog. I never understood why they were called that because there is pretty much nothing italian about it. Its a half moon of pizza dough bread filled with either 2 two deep fried hot dogs or one deep fried hot dog and one deep fried sausage topped with mustard deep fried potato chunks onions peppers and ketchup. Needless to say its UNREAL! This spot is famous in newark and the inside remains generally un changed since the 70's there are a ton of autographs on the wall including one from the soup nazi from seinfeld that reads "to rickey dee the hot dog nazi from the soup nazi" if you are ever in Newark NJ make the trip to Dickie Dees!
